Just wanted to clear something up!
The Non-Equity Tour of Hair will be launching this fall. An official press announcement has yet to come out but the Equity production sold all it’s things to it (sets and otherwise), so it should be out in due time. That being said, because it’s a Non-Equity tour, a new batch of hippies will be spreading the love! I know we’ll continue to update this as we know more information...

Hair grows.
reachingfortheday submitted:
In honor of Hair closing, I thought I’d send in a little bit about what Hair taught me.
I saw the show on Broadway during the Summer of Love, and at the time I was going through an extremely rough patch in my life. Leading up to seeing the show, I’d listened to the soundtrack but never really been “WOW”ed, if you know what I mean. People were...

My Hair Story.
meandlucifer:
Me and my family were walking down Broadway, we made reservations at John’s Pizzeria a few buildings down from the St James Theater this summer. We were killing some time going for a walk while waiting for our time to be seated. Walking by the St James, we saw a small crowd surrounding the theater and I came to the conclusion that this was one of those famous lotteries I read about...

goodbye, HAIR
no-fictional-love:
it hurt so much to type that! it’s so cheesy and cliche to say this but this show truly changed my life. i don’t know where i would be right now without having experienced it. i saw the show for my third and last time on the last day of 2011 and it was one of the greatest nights of my life, and now the show is ending on the day before my birthday. i feel like it’s telling me...

Cant Believe Last Night Was The Final Performance
nazisinthebathroom:
So glad I was there. It was such a beautiful evening. I never wanted it to end. I am so exhausted from the bus rides but I am sending all of my love to the tribe and all of my fellow hippies out there! Please never let your love die!

what can i possibly say? HAIR has changed my life. As sad as I am to see it end, I’m so proud of what this show has accomplished. Life will always be around us and in us, even as we say our bittersweet goodbyes. See you in another 20 years, HAIR, when the next revival wins the tony award, and Will and Gavin will come to see the show, watching how their generation...

tonight Hair is closing it’s tour. The show started touring late in 2010 and it’s final show is tonight. The first time I saw it, I was in NYC with my family. I persuaded my dad to buy tickets and I loved it from the beginning. Seeing Gavin Creel on stage was amazing. The show was pure energy and adrenaline. When it came to LA, I saw it again. It was even...

even though I didn’t get to see it nearly as many times as I wish I had, even though I never did go up and dance on the stage, and even though it will be more heartbreaking than it probably should to be in the city and not be able to see it…I’m so grateful to this revival. I’m grateful for the people who put it together flawlessly, I’m grateful to the cast for...
sealed with a righteous kiss

from the beautiful skies of the delacorte to the carpeted stages of the hirshfeld that traveled to today’s palace theater, walking into every theater felt like finding home once again. there’s nothing like looking up to find yourself staring at the glistening moon, knowing that in a short while, that curtain will drop, and the journey to the 60’s will begin once again. tonight will be...

submission from claudehooper-bukowski:
I think all I can just say is thank you, because I came into this show - fandom, if you will - not caring about it, judging it hardcore with no real reason as to why I didn’t care for it but I had a friend who had an extra ticket to see it two winters ago (December 2010) and I said took her up on that offer seeing as the last show I saw on tour was...

this is it.
the tour is closing tonight. I haven’t quite processed it yet- the fact that this group of people won’t be traveling the country performing this show anymore.
the submission box is open to personal stories or goodbyes, to anyone who wants to share them.
